Facebook Allows Businesses To Post Job Openings on Their Page

Facebook has announced new features that allow businesses to post job openings on the social media platform. The company aims to help small and midsized businesses find and hire the right people.

Page admins can now create job posts and boost them to reach a larger audience. Businesses have the option to increase the number of people who will see their job openings. Admins can track applicants and can directly contact them on Messenger making the hiring process a lot easier.

The new tools are also helpful for job seekers because job posts may appear in their News Feed. Applying for jobs is made easier for candidates as they only need to fill out a form after clicking the ‘Apply Now’ button. Some of the information on their Facebook profile will automatically appear on the forms but they can review and edit them.

Facebook is a great place to look for job applicants considering the platform’s monthly active users. Hiring people will not only be easier but will also be faster.

While businesses that have already tested the new service expressed their satisfaction, Jackdaw Research chief analyst Jan Dawson thinks LinkedIn is still better.

“It’s an interesting space for Facebook to get into, but I think most users would find it awkward to apply for jobs through a personal social network rather than LinkedIn. That’s LinkedIn’s great strength when it comes to applying for jobs: It already has your resume and it’s a social network tailor made and sanitized for work and job applications,” Dawson stated as per USA Today.

The new tools are made available to businesses located in the US and Canada. Facebook has not yet revealed if the features will also be accessible in other regions.
