Deep Silver and Atlus have released a gameplay video for Persona 5 revealing the details and mechanics of the upcoming video game. The preview shows the Palaces which are “the most distorted desires of people.”
Gamers can enter the Palaces through their Metaverse Navigator app. The Palaces are unique from each other since they are manifestations of different dark desires. The goal of Phantom Thieves is to infiltrate them and steal the Treasure which is the target’s deepest darkest desire.
In order for the gamers to achieve their goal, they need to solve puzzles and fight the Shadows using their personas. These magical items appear in the form of masks and are helpful to the protagonist of Persona 5. Watch the trailer below!
While fighting the Shadows is good, players are given other options in the Persona 5. They can Hold Up Shadows to earn money or turn them into something useful.
Oh, and this time around the protagonist can even convince them to join the Phantom Thieves to be utilized as a Persona! Of course if you’re more of a shoot first ask questions later type of person, feel free to destroy all the Shadows. We’ve even included the Baton Pass feature that lets an attacking party member switch turns with another character to maximize attacking weaknesses!
Persona 5 is already available in Japan. The video game is coming to America and Europe on April 4, 2017, according to the game publisher. It will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Stay tuned for more updates about the title!
