Niantic is adding 80 more Pokémon for trainers to catch in Pokémon GO. The developer of the augmented reality game has announced that gender-specific Pokémon variations will arrive this week.
The upcoming monsters are originally introduced in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile of the Johto region are part of the expansion.
There will also be more opportunities for gamers to evolve their Pokémon as new Evolution items will be added PokéStops. Players have to collect items to help their monsters evolve into stronger characters.
Gameplay Changes & New Features
Besides the additional Pokémon, Niantic will reveal new features for Pokémon GO. The monsters are modified so that they will act differently when trainers try to catch them. Players will find Pokémon catching more challenging once the update rolls out.
To capture them easily, gamers should give them Nanab Berries and Pinap Berries which have the ability to slow the movements of Pokémon. These berries can be acquired by spinning the Photo Disc at PokéStops. Following the instruction will grant trainers two new berries.
Avatar Customisation
Pokémon GO players can customise the appearance of their avatar with the latest wardrobe expansion. There are new items like shirts and pants. New accessories like hats and more are also included.
The expansion will be available later this week. Stay tuned for more updates!
