Dragon Ball Super is heading to Adult Swim this January. The hit anime series is the newest addition to the Toonami lineup of the cable channel.
Dragon Ball Super season 1 English dubbed will be available to U.S. viewers starting Jan. 7, 2017 at 8 PM and 11:30 PM ET. All 26 episodes of the first season will be shown on Adult Swim next year.
Voice actors Seán Schemmel (Goku), Christopher R. Sabat (Vegeta), Sonny Strait (Krillin) and Jason Douglas (Beerus) will voice the iconic characters of Dragon Ball series, as per Polygon. They were also the ones who voiced the said characters for the 2015 animated film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F.
Dragon Ball Super was first aired in Japan in July 2015. The new storyline is set after the defeat of Majin Boo. The greatest warriors protecting the earth and its inhabitants have been living in peace for a long time but new enemies arise.
The God of Destruction named Beerus comes to earth to fight Son Goku, the Super Saiyan God he saw in prophecy. The strongest warrior from Universe 7 is eager to test the power of Goku for his own pleasure. In the end, he was able to beat the Super Saiyan but he did not destroy the planet as planned because he was satisfied with their match.
Meanwhile, Frieza is returning in Dragon Ball Super to get his revenge against Goku. He will be resurrected using the dragon balls. Despite his strength, he still cannot defeat the Super Saiyan.
Another antihero named Zamasu will challenge Goku and Vegeta. He intends to kill everyone he sees. The two Super Saiyan will fuse to defeat their immortal enemy.
